MacGregor Correspondent...
Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful sunny weather! Now is the time to take a drive around MacGregor as the flowers, hanging baskets, and gardens are looking lovely.
Henderson House is open every Saturday from 1-4 p.m. during July, August and the first weekend in September. Displays vary from artists, photographers, carvers, quilters, scrollers, flower arrangers and collectors. Your contribution to a display is welcome. Entertainment will be provided by local musicians. You are invited to enjoy the exhibits and entertainment then experience a tour of “Edie’s Garden” at the Henderson house and enjoy a cup of tea.
Donations will be used toward the replacement of the old and broken sidewalk, to complete the accessibility project. This Saturday the exhibit will feature floral arrangements and bouquets. Local artist’s paintings will also be on display. Don McMaster’s paintings will be on display in the near future.
Mark Aug. 27 on your calendars as the “Communities in Bloom”, Pork on a Bun Luncheon will start at 11:30 a.m. in The Co-op Town Square. A gently used, once loved, no longer needed “Items for Sale” will be held in connection with the barbecue. Desserts are needed, so if you like to bake, please give Vivian or Lucille a call to contribute.
The Rossendale Consolidated School re-union held on July 17 was deemed a success as about 150 people were in attendance. Reminiscing, a tour of the school and a ballgame were enjoyed, as well as a delicious pork on a bun supper.
Sympathy is extended to Mary Sylvester and family in the recent passing of Art on July 16. The funeral service was held at the Omega Funeral Chapel on July 21 with Wilma Shirriff officiating.
Congratulations to Kristin (nee MacDonald) and Darren Duncalfe who were married in Brandon on July 10. Many locals enjoyed the beautiful outdoor wedding.
