Inspiring Weekend Workshops at the Arts Centre
Workshops are a great way to become inspired and learn something new. The Arts Centre is hosting a variety of fascinating weekend workshops in March and April with top-quality professional instructors. Renowned Winnipeg artist Larry Rich is coming to teach an Acrylic Workshop on February 25. In Larry’s workshop you will be exploring various techniques for producing individual and unique treescapes in the abstract. On March 3rd, we have a Paper Marbling Workshop with Janet Carroll. Marbling is a process that involves swirling inks in a tray of thickened water, then laying a sheet of paper on the tray and picking up an instant print. This introductory workshop will explore the tools and materials of this fascinating and at times messy craft. Join Julie Lamoureux for a Bob Ross Style Oil Painting Workshop on March 24. All supplies are included in this workshop and at the end the day you will have created an oil painting that you will be proud to display. On March 31, we have a Figure Drawing from A to Z Workshop with instructor Alexander El. This workshop is ideal for beginner and experienced artists who are interested in life drawing. With a live nude model you will learn composition, human body proportions and the importance of contrasts in drawing three-dimensional objects. Just call the Arts Centre at 239-6029 to register for any of these workshops.
