Comrie wedding allegedly slated for California

EDMONTON — Oiler fans and local stargazers won't get a chance to snoop on the impending nuptials of Mike Comrie and Hilary Duff.

Online reports say the wedding will not be held in Edmonton and could be held at a ranch in California.

"I would not want to get married in Edmonton either (if I were them)," said Steph Kiraly, a big Edmonton Oilers fan.

The reports also said the two will be tying the knot before Oct. 7, when the Oilers are expected to start the 2010-11 season.

The two announced their engagement in February after a vacation to Hawaii.

"I was happy for them, they make the cutest couple. I was just upset that he did not ask me," said Kiraly.

Comrie's future with the Oilers remains up in the air. The Edmonton native is an unrestricted free agent and has yet to sign a contract with any NHL club for the 2010-11 campaign.
