The overcast skies didn't damper the enthusiasm.

Central Plains Cancer Services held its annual Challenge Walk this morning on Island Park in Portage la Prairie. Participants had the option of walking or running 10 km, or as far a distance as they wish.

The organization has already raised more than $37,000 with fundraising remaining open until June 29.

CPCS joined forces with Portage District General Hospital Foundation and will be pooling the funds raised to renovate the treatment room in the Community Cancer Clinic, housed within the hospital.

Those interested in donating to the cause can do so by visiting centralplainschallengewalk.ca.
