Fort la Reine School in Portage la Prairie is gearing up for their fifth annual Home and Business Garage Sale.

“It’s always a lot of fun and we’re getting really excited about it,” says parent council member, Corrine Pratt. “We usually have 30 or 40 tables set up and it’s a little more business than a garage sale. It’s an important fundraiser for us to help get some money for the playground fund.”

Fort la Reine rents out tables in the gym with the goal of growing their playground fund while showcasing local shops and vendors. Crowds pile in and look over some garage sale tables while also spending some bucks at the many different vendors set up.

“We always serve a light lunch as well,” says Pratt. “We really encourage the community to come and see some of the vendors and what’s for sale.”

The big sale event isn’t until April 21 but if you’re interested in renting a table contact Corinne at cpratt@mts.net. Fort la Reine keeps the table fees while all vendors keep the money they earn through sales.
