The students’ interest level grew thanks to all the guest speakers who stopped in at Long Plain School for ‘I Love to Read’ month over the past few weeks.

“We had a really successful month,” says Culture/Language Teacher, Anne Desjarlais. “We’ve had many special guest readers attend including Mayor Irvin Ferris, Chief Dennis Meeches, and Southern Chiefs’ Organization Grand Chief Jerry Daniels. It’s been a lot of fun.”

The students also spent some time hearing from Author Lynda Dobbin-Turner Monday afternoon to wrap up ‘I Love to Read’ month when Dobbin-Turner read from her book Shane's Big Adventure. Golden West radio personality Travis Roberts was also in attendance for the final reading.

Desjarlais thanks all the speakers for donating their time to the students.
