The Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League announced Central Plains Capital Logan Calder as the CCM-Hockey Player of the Week for his strong play in three games last week.
Calder and the Capitals gathered six of a possible six points as they battle the Southwest Cougars for the eighth and final playoff spot. Calder netted 2 goals Wednesday night versus Interlake, helping the Capitals to the 7-2 victory. Calder then had another five points over the weekend in CP’s wins over Winnipeg Bruins and Southwest.
Calder is in his second season with the Capitals and has accumulated 17 goals and 14 assists in just 26 games played. He has points in his last 10 games where the Capitals have gone 8-2 in that stretch.
Central Plains wraps up the home portion of their regular season with a game against the Winnipeg Wild Wednesday at the BDO Centre.
