Alcohol heists in Portage

Police are asking for the assistance of the community with identifying two suspects following separate incidents of theft last month at local liquor purveyors in Portage la Prairie.

According the RCMP, the first theft took place on January 13, shortly before 4 p.m., where a female suspect entered the Liquor Mart on Saskatchewan Avenue E., grabbed a bottle of liquor, and quickly fled the store on foot. She is described as an Indigenous female with a medium build, seen wearing a red hooded jacket, blue jeans and dark coloured boots.

The second theft took place on January 27, shortly after 10 p.m., where a female suspect entered The Bottle Stop attached to CanadInns and reportedly grabbed two cases of beer before running from the store to an awaiting silver Pontiac Montana minivan. She is described as an Indigenous female with a heavy build, seen wearing a green hooded jacket, black and grey Raiders toque, grey sweatpants and tan coloured boots.

Anonymous tips can be made through Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and Tips leading to the arrest and prosecution of these suspects could receive cash awards.
