Lakers host Wild in second round

The second round kicks off this weekend.
The MacGregor Wild and Gladstone Lakers will face off in the second round of the Tiger Hills Hockey League playoffs after the Wild downed Pilot Mound in four games to open the postseason while the Lakers received a bye through the first round.
MacGregor lost the opening game of their series to the Pilots but rebounded with three straight wins to close it out on the road Sunday night in Pilot Mound. The Lakers and Wild faced off twice this season with each club netting a victory by a substantial margin on the score sheet. Gladstone finished the season in second place seven points ahead of the Wild who finished in third.
Game one of the best-of-five series gets going Friday night in MacGregor with puck drop set for 8 p.m. The next two games are in Gladstone Saturday and Monday night.
