UPDATE: Overpass west of city closed
The province is advising that PTH 1A overpass west of Portage la Prairie is closed, but expected to reopen to one lane within 48 hours.
According to a release via Manitoba Infrastructure, structural damage was caused to the overpass as a result of a collision involving an over-height load on a truck heading westbound Friday evening.
All traffic entering or exiting the west side of Portage la Prairie has been directed to use PR 240.
A full inspection of the overpass – along with PR 240 and PTH 1a - was conducted Monday and uncovered no further issues.

A vehicle collision has caused Highway 1A on the west side of Portage la Prairie to close.
According to Manitoba511.ca the closure affects traffic travelling eastbound on Highway 1 while entering Portage la Prairie and westbound traffic on Highway 1A wanting to travel eastbound on Highway 1.
Traffic is advised to use Highway 240.
