The Portage Collegiate Institute’s hockey teams picked up wins in their respective leagues to wrap up the week as the Saints took out Miles Mac 5-2 on the road Wednesday in Winnpeg while the Trojans held out for a 4-3 win in overtime over Carman Thursday in Portage.

The Trojans stopped their seven-game losing streak in the Zone 4 Hockey League in its tracks with the victory. The boys were trailing 1-0 at the end of the first period but found their legs in the second and exploded for three goals to take the lead. It didn’t take long for PCI to finish off Carman in the overtime period. 30 seconds into the extra frame Matt Boychuk scored to seal the victory for the Trojans. Grayson Pashe picked up the win between the pipes making 37 saves.

The Trojans are back in Zone 4 action when they welcome Morris to Portage Thursday, November 23.
