Win to continue.
Playoffs have arrived for both Westpark School and Portage Collegiate Institute's (PCI) varsity volleyball teams.
Westpark's varsity boys finished the Zone 4 season 7-1 and in first place. The Royals punched their ticket to the final after taking out Miami in straight sets in Tuesday night's semifinal at Westpark School in Portage. The Zone 4A Final goes Thursday night at Westpark School. The boys take the court at 6:30 p.m.
The lady Royals weren't as fortunate, finishing their volleyball season with a bang by winning a tournament at Dufferin Christian over the weekend, but a 3-4 regular season record wasn't good enough to qualify for playoffs.
Portage Collegiate Institute's varsity Saints and Trojans are both playoff bound. The Saints finished a perfect 10-0, winning in straight sets over Sturgeon Heights Huskies to close out their West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 1 regular season. The ladies will host the quarter final Thursday night at 5 p.m. at Portage Collegiate.
The varsity Trojans wrapped up their WWAC Tier 2 season with a loss Tuesday. The boys fell 3-1 to Stonewall on the road to drop to 6-4. The boys will head into the playoffs in second place, earning themselves a bye into Tuesday's semifinal.
