Dylan Tanner had a pair of goals and James McIsaac scored the game winner in overtime to lead the Portage Terriers to a 4-3 victory over the Selkirk Steelers Friday night at Stride Place in Portage la Prairie.
Tanner tied the game at two late in the first before finding the back of the net again in the second to put the Terriers in front. Brady Castello evened it for the visitors mid way through the third before McIsaac clinched the overtime victory.
Lasse Peterson – who the Terriers acquired last year but just recently came to town following a stint in the WHL – picked up his first victory as a Terrier with a 28 save performance while Hayden Dola got dinged with the loss.
The extra point brings the Terriers into a fourth place tie with the Steelers, and the boys will look to continue their winning ways Sunday night while hosting the Blues.
