Snowfall warning issued for southern Manitoba

By Portage Daily Graphic, Portage Daily Graphic

Environment Canada issued a weather alert Friday afternoon placing much of southern Manitoba, including Portage la Prairie, under a snowfall watch.

As per the alert, moderate to heavy snow will spread into the southern part of the province beginning Friday night and 10 to 15 centimetres is expected by the time the snow begins to ease Saturday evening.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Environment Canada says to be prepared to adjust driving with changing road conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Mun. of Norfolk Treherne
R.M. of Victoria
R.M. of Portage la Prairie
