Dust off your broom and shoes, curling season's around the corner.

It’s that time of year to sign up for league play at the Portage Curling Club in Portage la Prairie. There’s a new face managing the daily operation of the club, Rae Trimble-Olson, and she’s excited to be taking on the role and helping people get involved.

“I’ve been curling for years and I know quite a few people around the club so it should be fun,” says Trimble-Olson. “We’ve got things like the Little Rockers program, which is always full, junior high curling is always really popular too. We’ll have our Men’s and Women’s leagues going, Burnside, and Masters as well. We’ve got leagues for all types of curlers.”

The prices are affordable for a team and over twenty nights included, there`s also afternoon and evening leagues offered throughout the week. Trimble-Olson's also looking forward to hosting another set of Canad Inns Classics this month. The Men’s Classic is up first from Friday, October 13th, to Monday, October 16th. The Women’s Classic follows it up October 20th to 23rd. The Mixed Doubles Classic won’t be held in Portage this year.

The club will also be holding numerous bonspiels throughout the curling season. Get in touch with Trimble-Olson if you’re interested in signing up for a league at the Portage Curling Club or head to their website at portagecurlingclub.com.
