It was another busy week of high school volleyball in Portage la Prairie.

Westpark’s varsity boys picked up a win on home court Tuesday night over Miami. They Royals won three sets to none, outscoring the opposition 25-13, 25-14 and 25-10 along the way to improve their Manitoba High School Athletics Association (MHSAA) record to 2-0 this Zone 4A season. The varsity girls lost their Zone 4A opener to St. Paul’s last week but can get back to the .500 mark while hosting Miami (0-0) Thursday night. The girls take the court at 5:30, the varsity boys start at 7 p.m.

Saints rolling

Portage Collegiate Institute’s (PCI) varsity Saints club are off to a good start in the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference. The ladies are a perfect 3-0 to start the Tier 1 season. The Saints have a tough test Wednesday against Fort Richmond Collegiate (3-2) before tournament play this weekend, where the girls head to Brandon for the Vincent Massey Viking Classic.

The Trojans sit 1-2 in Tier 2 play after losing 3-2 to Westwood Monday and are now off until October 11, when they host John Taylor at PCI.
