Toronto Fashion Week kicks off
World Mastercard Fashion Week
It may be spring outside – but the city's gearing up for fall and winter fashion.
The Canadian catwalk known as MasterCard Fashion Week, featuring the fall and winter collections for 2015, kicks off under the iconic white tents at David Pecaut Square in downtown Toronto starting March 23.
Organizers are bracing for more than 30,000 guests throughout the week, which ends this Friday, and designers will be showcasing their works in variety of venues, some with seating for 800, some with intimate studio space.
We're looking forward to a jam-packed week's worth of glorious colour, style and vision from the fashion world's top talent, and research shows Toronto's Mastercard Fashion week is the biggest fashion week held in Canada, and the second largest fashion week in North America after New York.
And the messaging is purely Canadian: We are showcasing not only our culture but our very identity.
“We're very excited to see the designer’s Fall/Winter 2015 Collections at World MasterCard Fashion Week this season. The event has become a highly anticipated fixture on the Toronto cultural calendar,” says Carolyn Quinn, director of IMG Fashion Events & Properties, IMG Canada. “As Canada’s leading fashion event, World MasterCard Fashion Week provides a world-class platform for up-and-coming and established designers to showcase their work and connect with buyers, press and consumers.
“Our key focus with this event is to bring together designers from across Canada on one international stage and give the designers the best opportunity for global exposure.”
