Professional hockey player Mark Pysyk reportedly collapsed playing recreational basketball Saturday morning in Rochester, N.Y.
The 23-year-old defenceman was taken to a nearby hospital and his vital signs were close to normal, the Democrat & Chronicle newspaper in Rochester reports.
Pysyk, who was recently demoted to the AHL by the Buffalo Sabres, is said to have dropped to his knees before collapsing on the court.
Selected 23rd overall in the 2010 NHL draft, Pysyk has played 70 career games for the Sabres.
Pysyk skated Friday night in the Rochester Americans' home game against the Toronto Marlies.
