Oblivious man hijacks awkward Tuukka Rask interview
This guy saved Tuukka Rask from an embarrassing late-night interview, and stole the show. (YouTube screengrab)
It’s safe to say Tuukka Rask isn’t used to getting stopped in L.A. by paparazzi that often, or ever.
The Boston Bruins goaltender found himself in the middle of a TMZ-esque camera swarm by PopCandiesTV, whoever they may be, and it was as uncomfortable as you would expect.
It’s evident early on that the camera guy is just thinking about random juicy questions to ask Rask on the fly, hoping the Finnish keeper blurts out something he’d regret after leaving Bootsy Bellows, a bar in West Hollywood.
Instead, Rask stumbles and stammers his way through the opening set of questions before the saviour/bane of his existence arrives to save the day.
Enter potentially drunken L.A. dude, who thinks he’s jumping in on a TMZ Benedict Cumberbatch interview.
WARNING: NSFW LANGUAGE
A night of firsts all around for Tuukka.
First late night, post-club L.A. interview, first time he’s been asked if he’s cold in L.A. (he’s from Finland and lives in Boston), and first time someone thought he was British actor Benedict Cumberbatch.
Maybe Rask was still feeling a little dizzy after getting beaned in the head by a puck while he was on the bench for the Bruins and L.A. Kings game on Tuesday.
But, since we don't know for sure when the video was shot, we'll give Rask the benefit of the doubt. He was likely caught off guard by the impromptu interview.
