Ecole Arthur Meighen School’s cross-country team capped off another banner year capturing the overall city championship held at the Birch Ski Area near Roseisle on Tuesday, October 2nd.

E.A.M.S. won the junior, senior and overall banner based on points accumulated during the 3 meets held over the cross country season this fall. Lane Taylor won the senior individual honors with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place showing at the 3 meets.

After a busy Tuesday EAMS followed up this performance competing in the 2012 Milk Run Cross Country Challenge otherwise known as the Provincial Championships the next day. Both grade 5 and 6 girls’ teams narrowly missed winning banners in their age group both finishing second.

Erin Owens and Simone Crevier finished first in their respective age groups races. The grade 8 boys had a little more success winning their 3rd provincial banner in the past 4 years. They previously won the honors back in grade 5 and last year in grade 7. Team members are Christian Lozeau, Kailen Shackleton, Lane Taylor and Tyrell L’Heureux .
