Preparations begin for Island of Lights 0

Although snow is still far from most people's minds preparations are already beginning for the Island of Lights.

Parks manager Dave Green said the City has already ordered more new LED lights.

"What we're doing is we're changing the old bulbs from incandescent to LED," said Green. "We're doing about 18,000 to 20,000 bulbs."

Over the next few years the City is planning to change all of the bulbs to LED one year at a time.The cost of this year's segment is about $25,000.

Fans can also expect to see one new display at this year's show. What that piece will be has not yet been revealed.
