Portager cuts hair for Cancer Care 0

When Sara Lelievre's grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, she wanted to do something special.

So she decided to grow her hair until the day she decided to cut it and that day was Saturday.

The Lelievre family was surrounded by friends and other at the Primary Design Salon in Portage as she cut 12 inches off her hair.

The cause helped Sara to raise $1,200 for the cause however, she still has some fundraising to do before she presents the funds to Cancer Care.

She will also be participating in the CIBC Run for the Cure on Sunday in Winnipeg.

"I made the decision to grow my hair and donate it to Cancer Care.  I also decided I wanted to do Run for the Cure and that's why I did the hair cut today," she said.
