Many came out to support Big Brothers Big Sisters on Friday by attending a zumba class at Portage Mall.
Two sessions run by Judy McKellar at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. raised funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Portage la Prairie. Participants paid a $10 entry fee, and were also able to purchase 50/50 tickets to support the non-profit.
BBBS executive director Dawn Froese said she thought the event went very well.
“I think it went well. We hadn’t done something like this before so I certainly got to meet some new people. That was great, and it was a good opportunity for us to just let people know a little bit more about Big Brothers Big Sisters,” said Froese.
In total the organization made $200 from the fundraiser.
