Woman sent to hospital following crash

Central Plains RCMP responded to a vehicle collision at Long Plain First Nation Monday that sent a woman to hospital.
On Monday, August 20, 2012 just after 9 PM, Central Plains RCMP, as well as Portage la Prairie EMS responded to a single- vehicle collision on Yellowquill Trail South in Long Plain First Nation.
The D Division Criminal Crash Investigation Team along with the Brandon RCMP Traffic Analyst attended and assisted in the investigation.
Investigation revealed that while traveling north on Yellowquill Trail South, a 2002 Chevrolet Venture van lost control and rolled into the ditch.
The 39 -year -old female driver and lone occupant of the van, from Long Plain First Nation, was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the rollover. She has been transported to Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg with what has been reported to be undetermined injuries.
The driver of the vehicle had not been wearing her seatbelt. Alcohol and speed are believed to have been a factor in the collision.
The name of the driver will not be released.
Police continue to investigate. No further information is available at this time.
