Mix up some Olympic Games-inspired cocktails

By Rita DeMontis, Toronto Sun

The spirit of the summer Olympics has definitely put everyone into a party mood. Time to celebrate! And, with any party, it’s important to establish the theme right off the bat. So say the folks at Bombay Sapphire gin, who recently worked with award-winning master mixologist Raj Nagra to create an array of cocktails perfect not only for the Olympics but any upcoming special events.

For the Olympics, it's encouraged that while we cheer on Team Canada, we invite our guests to come "representing their country of choice and watch together to see who comes out on top."

As for food, this is a great time to showcase summer fare — think fresh fruit, summer salads and barbecued meats. Many of these foods can be prepared ahead of time and enjoyed with guests.

Definitely keep your guests hydrated with a variety of beverage options that cover everyone's choices, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Be sure to provide pitchers of water in every room in which the party is taking place and have non-alcoholic options on hand for designated drivers and non-drinkers.
