With the London 2012 Olympic Games set to come to an end this Sunday, the games have been receiving positive reviews from Portage residents.

Unlike most Portagers, Mike Stiegler said he enjoys watching the Summer Olympics more than the Winter Olympics because there are a larger variety of sports that he is not as familiar with.

“Ever since I was a kid growing up in Hungary, I was always compelled to watch the Summer Olympics,” he said. “I just find them more enjoyable. They’re more interesting because a lot of Canadian people are not as familiar with some of the games.”

Adam Johnston, an avid soccer fan, said that while he has enjoyed the Olympic Games, Sunday’s semi-final soccer match between the United States and Canada "left a bad taste in my mouth."

“It was one of the most painful sports experiences I had to endure,” said Johnston. “ It was a heartbreaking loss for the ladies, especially after Christine Sinclair played her heart out.”
