The Save The CP Station Committee in Portage la Prairie is planning an upcoming public meeting at the CP Station building to discuss ideas on further renovation work for the site.

Anyone interested in invited to take part in the meeting scheduled for Aug. 14.

The Save the CP Station committee is open to suggestions about what can be done for renovations to the Caboose and Mail Baggage cars now at the CP Station. The meeting will be held at 7 pm in Portage.

Vic Edwards is encouraging anyone interested in the project to attend the meeting.

"We are looking for ideas, genuine interest -- maybe someone has connections that they may be able to help us with the way we go about renewing the caboose or the mail car. "

Edwards said he previously ask one of the local auto body shops whether they would be interested in doing work to restore one of the CP cars, but they said the job was too much to take on.

"We have volunteers now that have even started to take on the renewal and I think they need some assistance," Edwards added.
