The Portage MCC Thrift Shop will be promoting the Canadian Olympic Team’s, “Give Your Everything” campaign from July 31 to August 14.

“We’ve been promoting the London 2012 Olympic Games for quite awhile now,” said Kevin Hamm, manager at the Portage MCC Thrift Shop. “We have also been saving up various Olympic gear for years and we put it all out for sale the past few weeks.”

This campaign will give customers a chance to receive merchandise discounts based on medals won by the Canadian Olympic Team during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Discounts will be between 50, 30 and 20 percent off depending on the medal that is won. The discounts can be put towards any single item in the store.

Another great feature offered to customers is the ability to sit down in the thrift shop and enjoy the Olympic coverage.

“We’ve set up couches and chairs so people can watch the games in air conditioned comfort when they come to the store,” said Hamm. “People are often sitting here and watching the games intently. Our Olympic merchandise has been flying off the shelves as well.”
