The Portage Friendship Centre (PFC) will be holding their annual School Supply Drive starting August 1.
Over the past three years, Samantha Aymont, organizer of the School Supply Drive, said she has seen great community support from local organizations.
“The support we get from the Portage community is always fantastic,” she said.
One of Aymont’s most memorable moments came in 2010 when RBC Royal Bank donated over $7,000 to the PFC.
“We were able to partner with RBC Royal Bank’s Backpacks Program,” said Aymont. “They donated a certain amount of money to us and that allowed our organization to purchase 100 backpacks and fill them with school supplies. That was a good year.”
