The Portage Credit Union Junior Open is all set to go for another year.

Young golfers can hit the links at Portage Golf Club on Aug. 9.

Organizer Preston Meier said players can sign up at Portage Golf Club, either at the clubhouse or by calling 857-6177. The entry fee is $25.

"We've got a good number signed up so far," said Meier. "There's always room for more."

Golfers can sign up in advance, or beginning at 9 a.m. the day of the tournament.

Meier said generally, golfers must be 10 years of age to enter, but will look at accepting those younger than that on a case-by-case basis. As well, younger golfers have the option of playing a nine of 18-hole event.

"If the younger ones only want to do nine, they can, but if the younger one wants to do 18, he can as well," said Meier.

Meier said there will be plenty of opportunities for entrants to take home some hardware.

"There will be hole prizes and then some age prizes for all age groups," said Meier.
