Second Class Heroes will be the headlining act at the Summer Concert Series at Island Park this Thursday evening.

The band, made up of Rob Archer, Kevin Berard, Carl Foster, Rob Zabowski and Patrick Le Floch, play an alternative hard rock style.

“We like to style ourselves after bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Pearl Jam and Danko Jones,” said Archer. “We’ve been playing together for two years no and we mostly do our own stuff. We’re very focused on playing our own original material.”

Like many local bands, it is a chore to get all the members together for shows and practice sessions.

“We all have families and kids,” said Archer. “There are times when we struggle to find dates that we can all commit to. Luckily we’ll all be at Island Park for a great show Thursday night.”

It’s that attitude that allows this band to continue to play two years after their incarnation.
