Locals end Men's Amateur on low note 0

The two local entries at the Nott Autocorp Men's Amateur Championship ended the tournament at Glendale Golf and Country Club on a low note on Thursday.

Portage's Myles Sullivan, representing Pine Ridge Golf Club, fired a 10-over 82 to end the tournament tied for 18th. Sullivan posted an 18-over for the week.

Meanwhile, St. Claude's Brodie Gobin, representing Portage Golf Club, ended up two shots back of Sullivan at 20-over. Gobin posted an 11-over 83 on Thursday.

Pine Ridge's Joshua Wytinck won the tournament by birdying the first playoff hole to beat out Southwood's Charlie Boyechko, Breezy Bend's Garth Collings, and Teulon's Aaron Cockerill.

Wytinck, Cockerill and Collings now advance to the 2012 Canadian Men's Amateur Championship at the Camelot Golf and Country Club in Cumberland, Ont. and Club de golf Outaouais in Rockland, Ont. from Aug. 7-10.
