On Thursday, July 12, 2012 just before 9:00 PM, Portage la Prairie RCMP executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of 2nd Street Northwest in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

A Marijuana grow operation and approximately 50 grams of Marijuana were located and seized from the residence.

Kelly Grant Ward of Portage La Prairie, 46, has been charged with Production of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He has been served a summons to appear in court in Provincial Court on September 10, 2012.

No further information is available. Police continue to investigate.
