Submitted photo... Rilee Lloyd will be heading to Toronto on Saturday to compete in the Miss Teen Canada World pageant.
MacGregor's own Rilee Lloyd will be heading to Toronto on Saturday as she gets set to compete in the Miss Teen Canada World pageant.
Lloyd will be one of 66 young women in the pageant, down from 80 that were originally slated to compete.
"I am very excited. I got to know a couple of the girls through Facebook and they all seem very nice so it's going to be a tough competition," she said.
Lloyd was required to reach a fundraising goal of $3,000 and was in awe of the support shown from the community.
"I had great community support and I got my whole pageant fully fundraised," she said. "We had some fundraisers and every was good about showing up to those. I got a couple of sponsors and extra money to help me out."
"I wasn't expecting that. I figured I'd have to call more people and I saw that people were helping me out. It was really a good feeling."
The pageant runs from July 19-21, however Lloyd will be there starting tomorrow until the 22nd.
