Gladstone Farmer's Market has successful first day

By Robin Dudgeon, Portage Daily Graphic

The Gladstone Farmers Market kicked off its second year on Friday, with a very sunny and successful afternoon.

Monica Ferguson of the Town of Gladstone said that although the farmer's market will still be located in Williams Park the times will be different.

"It was from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. last year and we've decided to shortened the time up a little bit because some of the feedback from the vendors was that it was a little bit too long," said Ferguson. "Most people arrive at 11:00 a.m. when it first opens, and then you get some people on their lunch break, but after 2:00 p.m. there's not much action."

The farmer's market will now be open this year from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every Friday until August 31, rain or shine.
