Aeros win 7-0 after two-week layoff 0
The Portage Aeros are back in the win column after registering a 7-0 win against Stonewall United on Sunday.
The win comes after the team had a two-week layoff in season action, however the Aeros were up to the task as they played probably their most complete game of the season.
"Everybody played really well last night. We had six different guys who scored and the offence was spread around. The resilience of the team last night was really good," said head coach Chad Green.
In fourth division action, Portage United remained atop the heap with a 1-1 draw against the Gunners in Winnipeg on Sunday.
United (7-1-2) saw a four-game winning streak halted with the draw, but still remains undefeated in eight.
United is five points clear of Winnipeg FC and seven points clear of the third-place King's Park Rangers, who hold two games in hand.
Portage will be back in action Sunday afternoon when Mutiny FC (3-7-0) visits Republic of Manitobah Park at 5 p.m.
