Happy 145th! 0

By Jordan Maxwell, Portage Daily Graphic

Canada Day celebrations took off in Portage la Prairie early this morning as Canadians mark the 145th anniversary of Canada Day.

The annual pancake breakfast kickstarted the festivities as hundreds received two pancakes, a couple sausages and coffee to begin their day.

Plenty events continue to occupy Island Park for the rest of the day and the night will be capped off with Fireworks at 10:30 p.m.

Reminder: Take your best Canada Day photos and you can win a pair of skysuite tickets to see the Winnipeg Goldeyes take on the St. Paul Saints on July 14 at Shaw Park.

All you have to do is submit to us your best photos over the Canada Day long weekend via email or at our offices no later than July 6.

Please make sure that you indicate who is in the photo, when and where it was taken, and who took the photo.

The best photo will be selected and declared the winner, thus earning the tickets to see the Goldeyes.
