By Robin Dudgeon...New president of the Portage Rotary Club Derek McCutcheon stands with past president Brad Poole during the change over that occured during Tuesday's meeting.
A change in command occurred during Tuesday's meeting when the Portage Rotary Club gained a new president and a new secretary.
Before speaker Jean-Marc Nadeau could show the club more photos from his one year trip to Afghanistan president Brad Poole handed over the chain of command to Derek McCutcheon.
Mary Lynn Moffat also took this time to accept a service pin from Poole for her term as Secretary. Ken Keith is now expected to fill that position for the upcoming year.
"I think it's going to be great. I'm really looking forward to it and I hope it goes really well for our club," said McCutcheon after the meeting. "Brad did great, I was so impressed and so pleased I wish he would have stayed on for another year."
Past president Brad Poole said his year as president was very memorable.
"It's been an experience with no equal and that goes largely to the support of the folks in the club and the folks on the executive. It's certainly something I'm glad I took the opportunity to do when it arose - given the opportunity I would do it again," said Poole.
