An off leash dog park in Portage la Prairie may be one step closer to reality after the City announced plans to deal with the issue at an upcoming council meeting.

During the committee section of Monday's city council meeting it was noted that during the July 9 meeting first reading will be given to a bylaw that will amend the animal control bylaw to allow for a dog park in the City.
