Show and Shine wraps up a success 0
The Show and Shine event on Island Park was a success this year attracting vintage and classic automobile buffs on Sunday afternoon.
Central Plains Cancer Care Services held a type of canteen at the show and ended up raising $630 to go back into the non-profit agency.
"Everybody was super to work with," said Daisy Dowhy, resource co-ordinator with Central Plains Cancer Care Services, who helped out at the event fundraiser. "The Vintage Cruisers group are just wonderful to work with, and we had some nice remarks on our food booth. It was a rewarding day."
As well, everyone who attended the event was asked to drop off a non-perishable can of food for donation to the Salvation Army in Portage for the Tins for the Bin campaign.
Rusty Rutherford, a member with the Vintage Cruisers group, helped organize the Show and Shine on June 17. The event was originally scheduled for June 10 but the event was rained out.
