A special thank you to Habitat crew 0

By Angela Brown, Portage Daily Graphic

The Habitat For Humanity Portage Chapter members are once again rolling up their sleeves to build a new house for a local family in need.

In the relatively short time the chapter has been running here it is amazing how many homes they have completed for families who would likely not have the same opportunity to be homeowners otherwise.

This past weekend the volunteers in the community blitz day on Saturday came out and spent their day taking part in relatively arduous labour, putting up the walls of the new Habitat house in northeast Portage, despite the rain and mud that created added challenges for the crew.

It is admirable Portage has so many people who think nothing of spending their day off work, working to help out another family. In doing so, they show their good citizenship and especially their good spirit.

This Saturday is the second community build blitz day and will see more people out at the site, working hard to help complete the Habitat home project.

What can we say to so many kind individuals who will get up at 7 a.m. on the weekend to show their love for their neighbours in such a wonderful way?

'Thanks'? 'You're the best'?

Words cannot express the immeasurable value of so great a gesture.
