Portage to have a busy construction season

Brandon Logan

It is often said that Manitoba has two seasons - winter and construction - for Portage la Prairie, that saying will ring true for most of this summer.

With numerous construction projects already underway, expect more to start in the upcoming weeks.

"We're doing more road work this year than normal," said Kelly Braden, Director of Operations with the City of Portage la Prairie.

On Tuesday, two lanes were closed eastbound on Saskatchewan Avenue West and 3rd Street SW, because Imperial Oil sent a contractor out to put in wells for groundwater monitoring.
