Splash Island has officially opened for the summer in Portage la Prairie.

Monica Chorney is aquatic manager with Portage Regional Recreation Authority Inc. and said the facility saw good business on Sunday.

She is hoping for plenty of sunny days ahead so people will want to come out and enjoy a swim at Splash Island.

New this summer, Chorney said there will be a small concessions booth operating at the pool and it is currently in the plans.
