The Community Foundation of Portage and District Inc. (CFPD) created a new fund and made two grant presentations Friday afternoon.
First order of business was the signing of the Fund Agreement for the Robert A. and James W. Gibb Memorial Fund.
A $1,000 bursary will be awarded to the PCI student who has top marks and is planning on going into the construction field - this will be an annual award.
"We have encouraged people to look at memorializing people who have made significant contributions to the community," said CFPD president, Barney Christianson, when speaking of Cynthia Jordan's idea to establish a fund for her father and grandfather.
