The Province of Manitoba renewed their low-cost bike helmet program on Wednesday. In the programs existence, over 80,000 helmets have been sold to Manitoba families
"It is a good idea and a good start," said President of the Portage Junkyard Dogs Bob Guenther. "It's nice to see the province take a strong stance with bike safety the past few weeks."
In 2011-2012, over 600 Manitoban schools participated in the program and families purchased over 9500 helmets.
