A key cog of the Portage Terriers' offence for the last several seasons will continue his hockey career beyond the junior ranks.

Shaq Merasty has accepted a scholarship to Adrian College in Adrian, Mich. where he'll suit up for the Div. III Bulldogs.

"Shaq has improved his overall game as evident by his numbers this season," Terriers' head coach Blake Spiller said in a release. "The Terrier organization would like to thank Shaq for his contributions over the past three seasons and congratulate him for continuing his education and hockey career."

Merasty had 60 points in 38 regular-season games this past season, garnering the league's player of the month award for November.
