The Sharing Our World event is gearing up for its show this weekend.

The event takes place at Canad Inns on May 12 from 1 pm to 430 pm.

"It's coming together great. We are excited to have so many groups involved again this year," said Mary Lynn Moffat, community facilitator with Portage Community Revitalization Corporation, which is involved in organizing the event. "We are looking forward to seeing them out (and) giving the community a chance to experience the cultures from all of our community members."

New this year, free transportation will be available to the event from North Memorial School, La Verendrye School, and Portage Collegiate Institute. Buses follow a circuit, with the last bus leaving the Canad Inns at 445 pm.

The year about 20 cultural groups are taking part in the event.

Sharing Our World will feature a variety of displays, including a showcase of traditional dress.

"It will be an opportunity to see and learn more about the different outfits from the different cultures," said Moffat. "That's going to be really fun."
