The Portage Regional Recreation Authority is under some new management these days.

City Manager Dale Lyle and RM of Portage CAO Daryl Hrehirchuk took over the executive director position at the PCU Centre two weeks ago after three members of management staff vacancies opened up.

As a result, resources have been stretched a little thin, but Lyle said the period of transition will help iron out of the kinks.

"The timing being what it is as we near the end of the winter ice season, we're fortunate that there are lower activity levels so it gives us some breathing room to find out what issues there are. There are some holes in management there and we're trying to work through that and juggle the responsibilities at the City and the RM too," said Lyle.

Lyle said that both he and Hrehirchuk will meet with the committee's HR panel to discuss what's involved in securing a full-time director.
