Gas rates cut by 20 per cent 0

Daily Graphic Staff

We may be paying a little more at the pumps but on May 1, we'll start saving some gas money.

Natural gas rates are going down 20 per cent after The Public Utilities Board approved the cut due to volatile pricing.

The average consumer will save about $67/year, or 8.6 per cent.

Rate riders were cut in addition to a price drop of 2.7-cents per cubic metre.

However, customers with fixed-price contracts, through Centra Gas or a private broker, won't see a decrease.
