Portage Co-Op fired up the barbecue Friday for a hot lunch special to try and promote some of their deli products.
The barbecue took place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. where customers could get a half rack of ribs, homemade potato salad, a dinner bun and a can of pop for $6.00.
"We put on this promotion today. We're trying to do a hot lunch special to promote our Fort Hardy ribs and Melanie's Famous In-Store Made Potato Salad," said deli manager Cheryl Tully. "We're trying to put out a hot lunch special to help get some awareness out to the businesses."
Customers should keep their eyes peeled on the Co-Op's Facebook page as the store hopes to offer more hot lunch specials to come in the future.
